Ms Kristyn Jones

Ms. Kristyn Jones entered the Senior Executive Service in June 2008. Ms Jones serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (DASA) of Financial Information Management. In this position, she advises, coordinates and directs actions to achieve financial business transformation Army wide, capitalizing on on-going programs and projects, ensuring compatibility with and interoperability between Army financial systems and Defense systems, incorporating advances in Army information technology, communications, and Government processes and systems. She serves the Army Financial Management community as Chief Architect and Chief Information Officer as well as the Functional proponent for the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). Prior to her current role, Ms Jones held a variety of positions in DoD and in industry. From June 2007 to 2008, Ms Jones was assigned as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) for Cost Culture Transformation. Her responsibilities included identifying and implementing initiatives impacting people, process, and technology that will enhance the Army’s ability to manage costs and conduct more efficient and effective operations. Prior to this role, Ms Jones was the Director of Enterprise Transition Planning at the DoD Business Transformation Agency (BTA). Earlier she served as a Financial Manager at the Office of Naval Research, where she was responsible for budget formulation and execution of over $2B in Research and Development funding annually. Previously, Ms Jones held management positions at two Fortune Five Hundred companies, Capital One and Advanced Micro Devices. Ms Jones also served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the US Army, where she held a variety of leadership positions.
