Levels of Detail for Rates

The rates have been calculated at both detailed and summary level. Analysts should use the detailed rates where feasible.

The detailed rates are calculated based on CTYPE, Rate Group, OA, and ROC.

Summary level rates Include:

• CTYPE, Rate Group, and OA (asterisks in ROC column)
• CTYPE and Rate Group (asterisks in OA and ROC columns)
• CTYPE (asterisks in Rate Group, OA and ROC columns)
• Overall Army Civilian Rate (asterisks in CTYPE, Rate Group, OA and ROC columns)

Definitions of OA, ROC, CTYPE and Rate Group

Definitions of OA, ROC, and CTYPE can be found in DFAS-IN Manual 37-100. Rate Groups are derived via a crosswalk from the Army's accounting structure into the following categories:

• Rate Group 1 = AMHA
• Rate Group 2 = BASOPS
• Rate Group 3 = all other

Beginning with the POM FY03-08, Rate Group 3 has been further parsed into:

• Rate Group 4 = RDTE-Mission
• Rate Group 5 = MCA-Mission
• Rate Group 6 = AWCF-Mission
• Rate Group 3 = Other-Mission

Beginning with the POM FY13-17, Rate Group 3 has been further parsed into:

• Rate Group A = BA1 and BA2
• Rate Group B = BA3
• Rate Group C = BA4
